Nigeria: 2022 Young Writers’ Punocracy Prize

You are humbly informed to apply for the Punocracy Prize for Satire in Nigeria. Birthed in 2018, Punocracy is a community of young writers of satire in Nigeria.

Punocracy was instituted to make satire a widely accepted and understood tool of socio-political commentary. It was also to ignite the fire of interest in the genre.

In their quest to grow, Punocracy has opened entries for the Prize for Satire. This is the third successive edition. If you are a good writer, you are encouraged to apply. Please note that a person is allowed to enter once.

Eligibility Criteria

• ·         Applicants should be between the ages of 15 and 30 years as of November 2022.
• ·         In addition, the write-up should:

o   Be satirical.

o   Be written in English and saved in a .doc format.

o   Be anything between 300 and 1500 words.

o   Not be plagiarized in part or in whole.

o   Not have been previously published.

Benefits

• ·         Winner takes home N50,000 and a certificate.
• ·         Runners-up will receive books and certificates.
